A COVID symptom meet attendance attestation form is available here.

The form provided here is simply for the convenience of MCSL member teams (should, for example, the pool board or HOA request attestation). It does not represent language or content required by MCSL for COVID attestation. Each team should evaluate the content of the form to ensure that it meets their requirements. The form may be copied from the above PDF file and modified as desired.

An alternative form of COVID attestation may be found on the Sparrow website. This is a convenient online form that quickly assesses participants current COVID status. This attestation is not endorsed by the MCSL, and member teams should review the form carefully to ensure that it meets their needs.

Meet template files for 2021 are available on the automation page.

MCSL Executive Board Regarding 2021 Swim Season
May 24, 2021

After much deliberation, the MCSL Board has removed all of our COVID-19 protocols for the 2021 swim season. We took into consideration the current CDC guidelines, Maryland state COVID policy, and the fact that Montgomery County will be entering Phase 3 of the COVID policy on May 28th which removes all restrictions on outdoor sporting events. We have confirmed with county officials that we no longer need the COVID waiver.

Each team will be able to run swim team practices as they wish. We do, however, encourage team reps and coaches to consider the COVID practice policy that we previously provided and incorporate those safeguards as necessary.

“A” swim meets will be run as they have been in the past with the same number of athletes, officials, and other volunteers. Teams can choose if and how many spectators they allow at their meet. Keep in mind, though, that some pools and HOAs may have their own capacity restrictions. Virtual “A” meets are still an option. We highly encourage people to socially distance as much as possible, particularly around swimmers, the majority of whom are unvaccinated. We also recommend that referees purchase an electronic whistle and use it this season.

The team reps have voted to not have any mask requirement at “A” meets unless required by the home team. However, we encourage anyone who is coming in close contact any swimmer (most of whom are unvaccinated) to please wear a mask and practice social distancing as much as possible.

Divisionals will remain as three dual meets as previously announced. There will not be an “A” Relay Carnival this year. After speaking to several team reps, we decided that it would be too difficult for divisions and reps to plan these large meets at this late date. Similarly, there will also be no All-Star Relay Carnival this year. We are currently in discussions with Rockville Swim Center regarding Coaches’ Long Course and a two-morning Individual All-Star meet. We hope to have a decision about these meets by mid-June.

The 2021 order of events is now available. There are two changes: the events were re-ordered due to a rule change last year, and we are allowing 19 year olds to swim in 2021. Note that the 19 year olds swim in events marked "A" (5A, 6A, etc.), and that the 19 year old boys immediately follow the 15-18 boys, and the 19 year old girls immediately follow the 15-18 girls.

2021 Coaches ads are available now.
