News and Events

A sample generic pre-team waiver is avialable here. Thank you, Manor Woods and Rockshire! You can submit it to the county here.

The 2021 order of events is now available. There are two changes: the events were re-ordered due to a rule change last year, and we are allowing 19 year olds to swim in 2021. Note that the 19 year olds swim in events marked "A" (5A, 6A, etc.), and that the 19 year old boys immediately follow the 15-18 boys, and the 19 year old girls immediately follow the 15-18 girls.

2021 Division assignments have been updated effective 2021-05-13. The only possible remaining change is division N. With that exception, each team's schedule is correct on the website.

MCSL Executive Board Regarding 2021 Swim Season

The MCSL Executive Board  is pleased to announce that the Montgomery County DHHS has approved both our  COVID-19 Practice Protocol and our COVID-19 Meet Policy! Links to these documents may be found here:
All participants must sign a Waiver of Liability that will be incorporated into each team's  registration process. If you have questions, please contact your team representative and he/she may bring those questions to the Executive Board's attention. We will be creating a weekly "Frequently Asked Questions" document that will address questions surrounding how to operate practices and meets.

FOR TEAM REPS:
  • We will be holding a special Team Reps meeting Thursday, May 6th at 7:00 pm (note it is an earlier time, and that this special meeting will be held in addition to the usual reps meeting the following week).
  • MCSL teams will be expected to confirm their intent to participate in the 2021 season by midnight on 5/9/21. Use this form to confirm your intent to participate and abide by practice protocols and meet policy.
  • Completed Home Team Capacity Verification information must be submitted to rules@mcsl.org by 5/15/21. Use this form to submit your verification.
Please note: The MCSL COVID-19 Policies have been very carefully created based upon USA Swimming and Potomac Valley Swimming COVID Protocols and with input from county representatives,  coaches, and team representatives.  As we have discussed with the team reps and explained in our Meet Policy and Protocols FAQs #2,  based on changing circumstances, MCSL may make minor adjustments to its 2021 Meet and Practice Protocols; however, the Board expects that the existing protocols will remain in place throughout the 2021 season.  Team representatives already have committed to their team's compliance for the entirety of the 2021 season and all individuals participating in MCSL will be expected to comply with these COVID-19 Practice and Swim Meet policies as a condition of participating in the league.

Information from the 2020 season cancellation, including the original plan for 19 year olds, is available here.

Montgomery Magazine has a great article about MCSL in their June/July 2016 issue. Read it here.
